Emily vanderhoef

Emily graduated from Marquette University with a double major in Psychology and Criminology & Law Studies. She later earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School, where she developed a passion for supporting individuals through difficult life experiences. This ultimately led her to begin her career in child welfare.

Currently, Emily is an Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW) completing her clinical hours toward full LCSW licensure. She has experience working with children and families navigating anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and trauma in both school-based and child welfare settings.

Emily uses a warm, collaborative, and evidence-based approach in therapy, incorporating modalities including CBT, TF-CBT, Bibliotherapy, and EMDR. She believes building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and connection is an important part of the healing process and is passionate about helping children and families.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and twin boys, cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers, cooking, and cuddling with their cat, Marley.
