Craig Sweeney

Craig is a Licensed Professional Counselor In-Training (LPC-IT) working towards his full licensure. Craig graduated from Alverno College in 2022 with a Master of Science Degree in Community Psychology and has spent the last three years working with clients with concerns ranging from depression to anxiety, self-esteem issues, grief, family concerns, as well as trauma and PTSD. Craig enjoys working with a range of ages, utilizing ideas from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Psychology, Talk Therapy, and Client-Centered techniques. Craig believes that a strong relationship between client and provider is the foundation of good therapeutic work and that trust
and understanding between himself and the client will help them collaborate to tailor an individualized, effective course of therapy.

Prior to becoming a mental health professional, Craig worked as a high school teacher and served five years in the U.S. Army. Craig has been an advocate for military families over the past few years, working with many veterans and their family members, as well
as children and spouses of currently deployed service members. Craig recognizes the unique perspective he has, having begun in mental health at a later age, and feels his breadth of life experience has been a helpful asset as a counselor. Craig is married with three children, and when not at work, is likely spending time with his family, be it hiking, travelling, or simply cooking out and watching the Packers.
