Morgan Van Der Ploeg
Morgan graduated from Edgewood University with her Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Art Therapy. Morgan is licensed as a Registered Art Therapist-Provisional (ATR-P) and a Licensed Professional Counselor-In-Training (LPC-IT), and is working toward full licensure. She has experience working within the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program, supporting children and families with complex mental health and behavioral needs, as well as residential group settings with adults experiencing depression and mood disorders.
Morgan takes an individualized, strength-based, and solution-focused approach to therapy. She is passionate about integrating art-based interventions into evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to support emotional regulation, effective communication, and personal growth. Morgan views art as a powerful tool for insight and connection, especially when words are difficult to access. She offers a flexible approach that can incorporate creative processes alongside structured skill-building and psychoeducation, always tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual or family.
Outside of her work, Morgan enjoys engaging in her own creative practices, practicing yoga, spending time with her dog, and connecting with family and friends. She also enjoys lattes, cooking, visiting farmers' markets, and spending time on the water.
