Courtney Wallace

Courtney is an Advanced Practice Social Worker currently earning hours towards her clinical licensure.  She has been in the mental health field for over 10 years and has experience working with children and adolescents ages 3 to 18, adults, and families.  Her experience includes working within the home, school, community, juvenile court, hospital, and clinical settings.  Courtney’s top priority while working with you will be to build a therapeutic rapport that cultivates empowerment, support, trust, self-confidence, and motivation for you to attain positive and sustainable change in your life.

Courtney began her journey in the mental health field by leading a crisis stabilization program for several years which served youth that had been victims to severe abuse and sexual exploitation.  From this experience she took away the ability to provide support to children and families during intense crises, life altering distress, suicidal ideation, grief, trauma, and loss.  Courtney then earned her Master's Degree in Social Work in 2018 and became a School Social Worker for several years.  She often relies on her experiences being a school social worker to support children and families that struggle to manage school anxiety, school avoidance, emotional-regulation, defiance, and appropriate school behaviors. Courtney finally realized her true passion and ventured into the clinical social work field.  She has been providing therapeutic services to individuals and families in all levels of clinical care including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient.  She has experience working with children and individuals that have been diagnosed with mild-to-severe Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, Bipolar, Personality Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, ADHD/ADD, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Courtney can isolate or intertwine several therapeutic techniques including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing.

In her free time she enjoys learning new things, being outdoors, traveling, and enjoying life with her family and friends.
